CAE's chief executive transition and more moves to note

Several key hires and promotions in functions such as operations, business development and technology also feature.
CAE
Matthew Bromberg will become chief executive at the Montreal-headquartered defense and aviation systems company on Aug. 13, when he will succeed the retiring Marc Parent.
Bromberg has led global operations at Northrop Grumman for three years and spent two decades at Raytheon Technologies before that.
Parent has led CAE for 16 years and will work with Bromberg on the transition for two months before the official date.
The company recorded $4.3 billion in revenue for 2024 fiscal year ended March 31, of which 21% came from U.S. federal government work.
BWXT
Thomas Burns Jr. is now president and program manager for the nuclear component maker’s joint venture operating at the Savannah River Site in South Carolina.
Savannah River Mission Completion took over the liquid waste cleanup contract there in 2022. Amentum and Fluor are also partners in the venture.
Burns stepped into the new position on Friday after 25 years of nuclear and engineering experience, including the past three years as SRMC’s chief engineer. He succeeds Dr. Dave Olson, who is retiring from the project and touts a four-decade background in the nuclear facility field.
C5MI
Brian Drzewiecki has joined the provider of supply chain management software solutions as president and chief operating officer, a role he brings two decades of market experience to.
He most recently worked as chief operating and financial officer at Research Innovations, a software engineering and cyber company focused on U.S. and Five Eyes national security agencies. His career also includes roles at CAES, Raytheon and Eaton.
In the fall, private equity firm DC Capital Partners acquired a controlling interest in C5MI.
Core4ce
Rick Hubbard has been appointed to a chief scientist post at the cyber and data operations provider, where he will hold some responsibility over technical teams and the innovation strategy.
Curtis Arnold, Jackie Lawrence and Mark Poe also hold the chief scientist title at Core4ce. This group of executives is responsible for defining technology priorities and representing the company across the ecosystem.
Hubbard joined Core4ce through its acquisition in the fall of Azimuth, where he was a business unit chief engineer.
Edgewater Federal Solutions
Haider Haimus has joined the enterprise IT and systems engineering company as president of its national security sector that includes work with law enforcement, homeland security and intelligence agencies.
The 24-year market veteran most recently worked as an executive at Amazon Web Services, where he led business development efforts at agencies such as the State Department and Office of Personnel Management.
His career also includes senior roles at Accenture Federal Services, Buchanan & Edwards and Salient CRGT.
Exovera
Jennifer Moffatt has joined this subsidiary of SOS International as vice president for business development, following her retirement from the CIA after 22 years there.
In her most recent role, she served as chief of strategic partnerships for the open source enterprise with responsibility for outreach and engagement efforts. The audiences for those included U.S. allies, private industry and academia.
Exovera’s software is designed to help collect and analyze open source information through the use of artificial intelligence techniques.
KBR
Gabe Camarillo has joined as senior vice president of the defense technology solutions business line, which provides systems engineering and integration services to U.S. and international customers.
He most recently served as Army undersecretary during the Biden administration. Camarillo’s industry career includes roles at Science Applications International Corp.
What KBR calls its DTS line touts $2 billion in annual revenue and roughly 7,500 employees.
NEC National Security Systems
Todd Morris has taken up the role of president at NEC NSS, a subsidiary of the Japan-headquartered IT and electronics manufacturer that focuses on U.S. government work.
Morris is a three-decade market veteran who most recently worked as CEO at Fusion Technology. He succeeds Dr. Kathleen Kiernan, who is retiring after having led NEC NSS from its launch in 2021 following three decades in law enforcement.
NEC NSS is a provider of biometric identity and artificial intelligence tech for federal users in mission areas such as access control and transportation security.
Northrop Grumman
Travis Garriss has joined as chief information and digital officer, which involves leadership of all aspects related to the company’s IT and digital transformation efforts.
The two-decade tech veteran most recently worked as chief information officer at BAE Systems’ U.S. subsidiary, where he oversaw the implementation of its IT strategy.
His career also includes 18 years at Honeywell, where he established global IT architecture and directed network and application operations.
Oshkosh Corp.
The specialty truck maker is renaming its defense segment to “Transport” ahead of the expected full-rate production contract to be signed later this year for the Postal Service’s next-generation vehicle.
In conjunction with that, former Boeing executive Steve Nordlund will join Oshkosh on July 14 to lead the transport segment as president.
A 25-year industry veteran, Nordlund most recently led Boeing’s air dominance division and focused on research-and-development efforts in military technology.
Special Aerospace Services
Rich Kolberg, Garrison Thompson and Adam Liddle have joined the space and missile defense-focused company as vice presidents of business development.
Kolberg is a 25-year veteran who most recently worked as a senior portfolio manager at Boeing. Thompson has been in the industry for three decades and most recently was chief technologist for Booz Allen’s national security segment.
Liddle has 25 years of experience, including several as a space acquisition officer and a more recent stint as vice president of growth operations at Terran Orbital.
Their appointments follow the Godspeed Capital-owned company’s announcement in April that Deborah Adams joined as chief people officer. The 15-year industry veteran most recently worked as chief people officer at Intrepid, which was acquired in the spring by Systems Planning & Analysis.
Tria Federal
Atchut Kanthamani has moved up to president, a newly-created position that involves responsibility for the digital services company’s business growth and technology innovation teams.
Kanthamani joined Tria back in the fall through its acquisition of Softrams, the company he founded in 2007 and employed 650 people at the time of that transaction.
Softrams became the building block for Tria’s business centered around civilian health programs, primarily at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
Booz Allen Hamilton
Robert O’Brien, the former White House national security adviser from 2019-to-2021, will join the company’s board of directors on Monday.
He will be a member of the panel’s nominating and corporate governance committee and compensation, culture and people committee.
O’Brien is also on the President’s Intelligence Advisory Board for President Trump’s second term.
Kraken Robotics
Kristin Robertson, a three-decade defense industry veteran, has joined the board of directors at this Canada-headquartered maker of sensors and power solutions.
She previously led RTX’s space and C2 systems business area from 2022 to 2023, and before that spent 28 years at Boeing including a stint as vice president and manager of autonomous systems.
Kraken touts its core tech areas as including synthetic aperture sonar, batteries for unmanned underwater vehicles and subsea energy storage.
Mitre
The nonprofit research-and-development organization’s board of trustees is seeing three of its members leave their positions within a week’s span of one another.
George Halvorson and Paul Kaminski will step down from the panel on June 6, while Cathy Minehan will depart on June 10.
Halvorson, the former Kaiser Permanente CEO, joined the board of trustees in 2014. He previously chaired Mitre’s public sector advisory committee and health advisory council. Kaminski joined the board in 2017 and is a former defense undersecretary for acquisition and technology.
Minehan first became a board member in 2009 and started her current, second stint in 2016. She is a former president and CEO for the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston.
